[su_spoiler title="Arrival"]The welcome to RoboNight starts as scheduled at 5:30 pm. To ensure that the agenda can be adhered to without time problems, we recommend arriving at the venue at 17:15. From the S-Bahn stops "Duckterath" and "Bergisch Gladbach" it takes about 10-15 minutes on foot. Experience has shown that the roads are congested on Friday afternoons, so you should allow enough time if you arrive by car; half an hour extra is realistic. Unfortunately, the event is not barrier-free. Please contact me if you need an accessible venue and we will try to find a solution together[/su_spoiler].

[su_spoiler title="Supply"]You don't need to bring anything, because everything is provided for: Ballpoint pens and writing pads are provided for taking notes. Refreshing drinks (Coca Cola, soft drinks, water and more) keep you awake and delicious pizza (also vegetarian) - sponsored by Bayer - keep your stomach rumbling at bay[/su_spoiler].

Reviews

[su_quote cite="Dr.-Ing. Alexander Brändle, Head of FHDW Campus Bergisch Gladbach"]The future belongs to robots! The future belongs to robots? Robotics is repeatedly cited as one of the most important technologies of the future. But what is the truth? What is hype, what is real and what is just nonsense? Forming your own opinion is a good strategy and RoboNight was the perfect combination of information, education and entertainment. Lennart Wörmer and his team were able to attract many interesting and well-known speakers. Representatives from Bayer and Microsoft provided initial impressions. The Head of Data Science at Bayer Business Services then described both aspirational goals and real-life scenarios of what can be achieved today with robots and autonomous drones in agriculture. But there was no shortage of fun either: FHDW students demonstrated live how easy it is to interact with Nao and Pepper - two handbag-sized robots. In another lecture, students were able to see live how a Sumo robot they built themselves in the lecture was taught AI and deep learning, navigation and image recognition - exciting, instructive and, above all, real and authentic! I am always delighted by the outstanding commitment of our students to current technical topics and challenges.

[su_quote cite="Lars Schellhas, Microsoft Senior Student Partner"]RoboNight was an incredibly exciting event for me, as it gave me an insight into the digital working methods of one of the largest chemical companies in the world. The student research work that was presented also gave you a sense of where the journey can take you[/su_quote].
