It promises to be a great evening - with lots of information, exciting talks and speakers. Beginners and advanced users are very welcome. It's worth it!

Alexander Brändle will introduce the exciting evening with the most important information about the agenda and tell you about study opportunities at the FHDW.

18:00 Keynote: Microsoft HoloLens live!

With the startup "Industrial Holographics", which will be discussed in more detail in the closing note, Christian and Raphael have been able to gain a lot of experience in the field of Microsoft HoloLens. Exciting facts, background information on development and a live demonstration make for an exciting keynote.

19:00 Pizza and moving break

To keep your stomach rumbling in check and get your energy levels back on track, we provide plenty of pizza. Free drinks are also included. There will also be the opportunity to talk to other speakers and participants and find out about study opportunities at the FHDW. After the keynote, the individual presentations will be divided into two parallel tracks and a showroom.

The Microsoft Bot Framework is a very innovative and exciting new development in the field of human-machine interaction. Christian shows how you can program and publish your own bot without much effort.

19:45 Windows 10 Creators Update and 3D printing

The Creators Update of Windows 10 opens up many new possibilities in terms of 3D printing. A live demonstration will show you how easy it is to print 3D objects with a 3D printer and how much it costs.

20:45 Build your own Magic Mirror

In this session, Lennart and Daniel (FHDW students and Microsoft Student Partners) will show you how to build and program your own Magic Mirror - based on Windows 10 IoT Core - in a step-by-step guide. With lots of photos, funny stories and detailed background knowledge, you'll have fun too!

Parallel to the two tracks, there will be an opportunity to try out the Microsoft HoloLens and other VR and AR hardware from 19:45. The Magic Mirror, which will also be the subject of a presentation, will also be on display in the showroom.

After the tracks, there will be another opportunity to talk to the speakers and try out the latest technology.

22:00 Closing Note: Industrial Holographics - A startup story

At the end of the FHDW App Night, Christian Waha will talk to you for an hour about the startup "Industrial Holographics". The startup deals with VR and AR technologies, such as the Microsoft HoloLens.

To top it all off, you will be provided with the latest technology gadgets as part of a prize draw. The main prize is a high-quality 3D printer. Good luck!

Event details

The event is aimed at students of the FHDW and technically interested Pupils in their final year at grammar schools and vocational colleges in the Rhineland (aged 16 and over). Participation is free of charge. But we need a minimum number of registrations to make the effort worthwhile. The available places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. So please register in good time! Students and interested parties from other universities are welcome. In case of doubt, however, FHDW students have priority.
